Jack Greene Helping To Purchase Musical Instruments For Disadvantaged Students

October 4, 2009

When Grand Ole Opry star Jack Greene mounts the stage at the Palace Theatre in Crossville in Cumberland County, with his guitar draped over his shoulder, he will do so for two reasons.  The first is to perform and entertain the folks in Tennessee.  But perhaps even more important the two hour concert will help raise funds for the purchase of musical instruments for disadvantaged students.

Crossville is becoming a well known center for cultural entertainment. Along with the Playhouse and a host of other popular sites, the Big South Fork Opry (BSFO) is being hailed for bringing affordable but quality entertainment to Cumberland County. By way of the Palace Theatre, in downtown Crossville, many stars and Nashville personalities have visited the BSFO stage. The legendary Grand Ole Opry Star and Nashville celebrity Jack Greene will be at the Palace on Oct. 10.  A special VIP reception by invitation will be held after the show.  Proceeds from the BSFO shows are used to purchase musical instruments for disadvantaged students in Cumberland County.
